BUS TRANSPORTATION GUIDELINES

Eligibility: Service is provided by the City of New Haven to students who meet the New Haven Board of Education requirements.
Notification: Parents/guardians will receive bus assignments, pick-up times, and stop locations in late August.
Boarding Location: Buses load and unload on Ferry Street.
Dismissal Procedure: Students must wait in their assigned bus lines until their bus arrives.

Designated Drop-off Areas:
The school parking lot on Bright Street.
The parking lot situated between the church and the school on Ferry Street.
Restricted Area: Parking is not allowed at the front of the school on Ferry Street, as this space is strictly reserved for buses during morning and afternoon hours.
🚶walker safety
Crossing Protocol: Students walking on Ferry Street toward Grand Avenue must cross at the traffic light located at Clay and Ferry Streets (in front of St. Francis Church).
Safety Requirement: Parents must ensure children use the “walk” button at the light to ensure safe crossing.
Student Transportation & Safety Rules
Families receive notification of time for pick-up/drop off and location.
- Students will be advised of rules pertaining to bus safety.
- Students should be at their location 10 minutes before pickup time.
- Kindergarten and 1st grade students must have an adult at P.M. drop-off otherwise the student will be brought back to school.
- Students living within a 0.5 mile radius of the school and those who live outside New Haven must provide their own transportation.
Violation of rules can result in suspension/expulsion of bus service.
